Emirates Stadium side will need to fork out mammoth sum
to land Anfield star.
Should Arsenal want to land Liverpool striker Luis Suarez
then they will need to fork out a mammoth £78m to do so.
Sports Direct News believe Arsenal, or indeed any
prospective suitor, will need to meet the Anfield side’s £50m valuation, a
figure Liverpool are not ready to climb down from, and will also have to meet
the player’s sizable wage demands.
The 26 year old former Ajax man will demand a four year
deal worth £150k a week, which would mean Arsene Wenger having to smash the
North London club’s current wage ceiling to meet the £28m contract.
Whilst such sums may be part and parcel of today’s
inflated transfer market these are figures that are totally alien to the
Emirates Stadium side and there is perhaps a fear that opening the floodgates
in this manner could send the club down a slippery road.
Indeed if an incoming player is offered a contract of
this magnitude then Arsenal’s top performers may demand parity which in turn
could send the club’s wage bill sky-high.
Arsene Wenger clearly wants Luis Suarez but now it’s
perhaps the moment where the French boss decides just how much he is willing to
sacrifice to land a true ‘Marquee’ signing.
