Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi says that his primary
objective is to assemble a formidable team that will do the nation proud at the
2014 World Cup.
Keshi is under pressure to bolster the team with the
invitation of some experienced players who had previously been left out. The
technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation are also waiting on
Keshi to present a provisional list of 35 players, however Keshi has assured
that there is no course for alarm.
"My goal is to make Nigerians happy and build a
strong national team for them," he told FourFourTwo.com
Keshi stated that his Super Eagles team is one that
thrives on mutual respect between the players and the coaching crew. He further
revealed that his responsibility to act as a role model to the players means he
always has to live above board.
"If I respect you, won't you respect me back? There
is a fine line between a coach and a player," he said.
"These boys look up to me. They see me as a role
model. I have to live up to that. I have to show them that," he added
