It is being reported that Inter are edging towards adding
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to the ranks this summer.
Inter's priority for the summer is to add some striking
firepower to the squad and Fernando Torres looks to be the primary objective.
The Nerazzurri are having a disappointing season and
owner Erick Thohir is expected to provide the resources for a comprehensive
overhaul of the personnel in June.
With Nemanja Vidic already snapped up to bolster the
defence, the spotlight is on an attack that has failed to scare Serie A
defences.
It has been frequently suggested that Inter could move
for Chelsea marksman Torres but his wages have always been a potential
stumbling block.
However, the latest reports from Sky Sport suggest that
Inter are discussing the terms of a loan deal with Chelsea that would limit the
strain on their wallet.
Inter have reportedly asked whether Chelsea would be able
to continue paying some of Torres' wages while he wore the Nerazzurri shirt.
While Chelsea are said to be keener to find a permanent
buyer for Torres, a loan deal may be possible but whether the Stamford Bridge
outfit are willing to let Inter pay only a percentage of his salary remains to
be seen.
Inter have also been linked with Manchester City striker
Edin Dzeko, but his wage demands look likely to rule out any move.
