The 'Adorn' singer has been
charged with 2 counts of DUI in relation to his August 15 arrest in Los
Angeles.
Following his arrest on
August 15 in Los Angeles for driving while intoxicated, R'n'B crooner Miguel
has now been charged with two counts of DUI. After being subjected to the
breathalyzer and other field sobriety tests, the 27-year-old singer found his
blood alcohol level back beyond the legal limit in California which led to him
being taken into custody by the authorities.
Asked for comment prior to
the charges, the "How Many Drinks" singer said, "I'm a human
being just like the next person. There's no real word that I'm guilty of that,
and that's all I have to say about it. The rest will be handled legally."
To his credit, the cops did report that the artist was fully cooperative
throughout the whole ordeal.
Perhaps realizing that as a
public figure, things like his DUI arrest are magnified and that he should be
more responsible for his actions, Miguel acknowledged that "as far as the
public part of it, it comes with the territory. We all exchange something for
what we receive. There's always a trade off and that's just kind of the other
edge of the sword."
The DUI charges, as well as
an accidental injury to the head of a female fan after his failed long-jump
stunt at the Billboard Music Awards a few months ago, are deemed to be bumps
along the thriving career path of the talented artist. Before those troubles,
he was well on his way to superstardom thanks mainly to his hit
"Adorn" off his "Kaleidoscope Dream" album that has earned
him a Grammy.
