New report says Khloe
Kardashian's husband didn't go to a drug treatment center but received a
treatment for issues related to his DUI arrest.
Confusion surrounding Lamar
Odom's rumored one-day rehab stint is cleared up. According to Los Angeles
Times, the former Lakers and Clippers player who is now a free agent actually
hasn't entered any rehab center.
Two people with knowledge of
the situation explain that the troubled NBA star did receive a treatment, not
for his drug problems, but for issues related to his recent arrest on suspicion
of driving under the influence.
Initial report suggested the
basketball player checked himself into rehab for his serious case of drug
addiction on September 4 and checked out a day later with an assistant. He was
later spotted in Los Angeles.
Lamar was pulled over by
police on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley on August 30 for driving
in a "serpentine manner." He went past three exits before finally
pulling over. His driving license was suspended after he refused to take
chemical tests to determine his level and type of intoxication.
Lamar's drug problem is to
blame for his strained relationship with his wife of four years, Khloe
Kardashian. She reportedly had been trying to stage intervention, but to no
avail. Though her main focus is getting him help, she reportedly has given him
an ultimatum to go to rehab or she would consider divorce.
Lamar's history with drugs
dated back in 2001 when he violated NBA drug policies twice in eight months. In
2003, he opened up, "I just couldn't control myself in L.A. ... the
lifestyle that I was living and the things I had access to." His father
battled heroin addiction in the past, and he wondered if he was "fighting
my father's demons."
He reportedly went to rehab
in San Diego in summer 2012, but his stay only lasted for 3 weeks.
