AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri faces selection
issues ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League Group H opener against Celtic
FC on Wednesday after Stephan El Shaarawy and Riccardo Montolivo joined an
already long injury list, with Andrea Poli also in doubt.
The 20-year-old forward El Shaarawy suffered a strain on
the eve of Saturday's Serie A meeting with Torino FC and scans subsequently
revealed muscle damage in his left thigh. Meanwhile, midfielder Montolivo
suffered a similar injury during the first half of the 2-2 draw. The duo will
undergo further tests in the next few days but are certain miss the game
against the Scottish champions.
As for Poli, who replaced Montolivo against Torino, he
was seen limping after the final whistle, but tests have revealed no more than
a bruise on his right thigh. Ignazio Abate, Mattia De Sciglio, Matías
Silvestre, Daniele Bonera and Giampaolo Pazzini were already set to be absent
for the Rossoneri.
