Garcia: Roma Were Much Better In The Second Half

Roma coach Rudi Garcia expressed his satisfaction with his side’s win over Catania on Sunday afternoon, but felt that it was a tale of two halves for them.

The Giallorossi cruised to a 4-0 comprehensive victory over the last-placed Sicilian side to continue their unbeaten run and finish out 2013 on a good note.

“We had a poor first half, but an excellent second half,” he stated to Sky Sports following the match.

“Naturally, I’d like to see us play more like we did in the second half going forward. We’ve earned 41 points so far, which normally is enough to be in first place.

Roma not reliant on Totti, Garcia insists

Roma manager Rudi Garcia says the team are fully equipped to cope with the absence of captain Francesco Totti when they travel to Udinese.

The 37-year-old has rolled back the years with a series of impressive performances for a side who have won all eight of their Serie A fixtures this season.

But Totti will be unavailable for the encounter with Francesco Guidolin's side, after he picked up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 triumph over Napoli last Friday.

Gervinho: Another Roma Win Without Conceding A Goal

Roma forward Gervinho is happy that the Giallorossi secured yet another victory without conceding a goal after Friday’s 2-0 win over Napoli.

The win allowed the Lupi to extend their winning streak to eight wins in a row, which ties the Serie A record for best winning streak to start the season previously set by Juventus on three occasions.

Gervinho wrote on his official Twitter page on Saturday about the victory and praised his team for their successful start to the campaign.

Roma to travel to London to finalise Gervinho deal

Reports on Italian websites are claiming that Roma officials, namely Walter Sabatini, will travel to London today to try and finalise a deal for Gervinho with the club having already agreed terms with the Ivorian winger.

The two clubs are still slightly apart on their valuation of the player and the reports claim that Roma will offer €8m when they arrive which should be enough to see the deal finally concluded and yet another player leave the Emirates this summer.

There isn’t much more to say about all this that I haven’t already said. Arsenal have stood fast on their valuation for the player and Roma, who started bidding at €3m have slowly risen to Arsenal’s demands.
