Former Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shuaibu says the senior
men’s national team of Nigeria may suffer after the football authorities in the
land allowed contract extension talks with Stephen Keshi reach a dead end.
Amodu says that the
development is rather unfortunate and too controversial. There has been
haggling of remuneration between the federation and Keshi’s management- a
situation that may have spiraled out of with Stephen Keshi insisting that he is
not willing to wait any longer.
“Rather unfortunate that we let it drag up till now and I
think what will suffer will be our football which is where I am concerned bit
the contract talk is too controversial for me to talk about”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria has fixtures against Guinea
and South Africa next month in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers. A lit of 23 players
have been released by the football house for the Guinea tie in Calabar.
