Real Madrid will defend the Champions League (and
European Cup) for the tenth time in the upcoming 2014/2015 season after winning
it all in a match against crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid in Lisbon late last
month. For the occasion, adidas have handed Los Blancos a pair of brand new
kits for what is sure to be a difficult campaign on multiple fronts.
The 2014/15 home shirt comes in Madrid's traditional
white color and features a stunning rugby collar that ties the club to a number
of adidas' other properties including Germany, Olympique Lyonnais, and AC
Milan, among others. The sure features black detailing for the adidas logo,
sponsor logo, and three stripes. The shirt features diagonal tonal stripes that
break up in the center of the shirt to form a large, subtle star.
The shirt is paired with white shorts and socks that
carry the black stripes forward. Both the shorts and socks carry a bright pink
accent strip that can also be found on the back of the shirt, running across
the shoulder blades, that connects Madrid's home shirt to its away counterpart.
The away kit basically takes the home kit and switches up
the color. The entire thing is a vibrant pink, reminiscent of the Vivid Berry
color that adorned the adidas Predator LZ2 in the Samba Pack of boots. The
shirt's template is exactly the same, as is the template used for both the
socks and shorts. The differences are in the details with the accent strip on
the back, adidas stripes, club crest, and sponsor logo all going white to
contrast the rest of the kit. The pink is a brand new color for the club,
having never been used in its 112 year history.
