Former Nigeria international Felix 'Owoblow' Owolabi
believes Ike Uche should have been included in Nigeria's 30-man provisional
list for the World Cup released earlier in the week.
Uche was the most notable exclusion, while players like
Osaze Odemwingie, Joseph Yobo and Joel Obi earned a recall to the national
team.
Owolabi is however of the opinion that including Uche in
the team would have given Nigeria more attacking depth going into the World
Cup. He therefore added that its not too late to amend the provisional list to
include the Villarreal CF striker.
“I don’t know the para-metres used by Keshi in selecting
his team, but I feel strongly about the exclusion of Uche in the team,"
Owolabi told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
"Uche is a good joker for Nigeria; therefore, it is
not too late to recall him into the team because he is a good substitute for
any coach."
