Sunshine crawl back to sink Wolves

Monday, 14 April 2014

Sunshine Stars of Akure came from a behind to beat Warri Wolves 3-2 at home in a Week 6 game of the Glo Premier League played on Sunday.

Wolves stunned their hosts when Josiah Maduabuchi scored as early as the 3rd minute to put the visitors ahead, but Kingsley Eduwo equalized for Sunshine Stars.

Michael Egbeta helped the Seasiders restore their lead when he curled in a free kick from the edge of the box in the 68th minute to give the visitors the chance to get a rare away win, but Wolves suffered a setback when Egbeta was sent-off for a second bookable offence in the 83rd minute.

The hosts made their numerical advantage count when they leveled the scores through Dele Olorundare who rose unmarked to head home an inviting cross from Eduwo in the 85th minute.

Eduwo finally sealed the win for Sunshine when he scored in the 95th minute after heading home a cross from Cameroonian midfielder Tamen Medrano.
