Arsenal have tabled a €13 million (£10.75 million) bid
for Belgian wonderkid Divock Origi, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
The 18-year-old striker currently plays for Lille and has
already become a regular in the French side this season, scoring four goals in
24 Ligue 1 appearances thus far.
It is believed a number of other Premier League clubs are
keeping tabs on the Belgium under-21 international but reports in Italy are
suggesting that Arsenal have made the first move to sign him.
Origi was snapped up by Lille in May 2010 from Racing
Genk. He has progressed through the youth ranks of Lille and only made the
breakthrough into the senior side last season.
Origi, who stands at 6’1’’, may possess potential but
splashing out £10.75 million on an unproven striker would certainly be frowned
upon by those who want to see their club sign established players and
ultimately challenge for honours.
