Former Bafana Bafana coach Trott Moloto has backed
Nigeria to have a successful outing at this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
Moloto said he believes that Nigeria will do the
continent proud at the World Cup finals when interviewed during a visit to the
NFF Secretariat on Monday, when a delegation of South Africa’s Premiership
clubs paid a courtesy visit to the Federation's President, Aminu Maigari.
"I have absolutely no doubt in the strength,
character and capacity of the Super Eagles. You have a strong and vibrant
squad, and I believe the Eagles will be ready to fly high in Brazil,"
Moloto said.
"The forthcoming Fifa World Cup is one that will
favour African teams. The weather will be good for the continent's flag
bearers, and I see the Super Eagles excelling."
On his part, Maigari thanked the South African delegates
for their confidence in the Super Eagles and Nigerian football in general.
"I thank your delegation and I am moved by your
confidence in Nigeria football and Nigeria footballers. I am aware that you
presently have on your books one of our National Team stars, Ejike Uzoenyi, and
I am also aware that you are aiming to sign more Nigerian players.
"The Government and good people of Nigeria are very
much keen on the Super Eagles doing very well in Brazil. The NFF is fully
determined to ensure the Eagles are thoroughly prepared to make the nation and
the continent proud at the World Cup finals," Maigari said.
