Enyimba's goalkeeper Paul Godwin has promised to keep a
clean sheet against Lobi Stars when they welcome the Benue State-owned club to
Aba in Wednesday's Week 8 encounter.
Godwin who was instrumental to helping Enyimba record a
slim 1-0 win against Akwa United in Week 6 stated that he is willing to do his
bit to help the club if selected for the mid-week encounter against the Suswam
Boys.
He stated that lack of goals from the strikers is a
contributory factor to the club's dismal performance this season. He however
admitted that they have not also kept it tight at the back as they have
conceded in all but one of their home games, unlike last season when they did
not concede any goal at home.
"We have a very good team, a very balanced
team," he told Enyimba's official website.
"But somehow, just as we are struggling to score
goals, we are also struggling to keep clean sheets. This is not good and it is
why I want to do my best to make sure we go on a run of clean sheets."
Godwin noted that the Abia State-owned club are looking
to turn their fortunes around by ensuring they keep a third consecutive clean
sheet against Lobi, having held off the rampaging attackers of Warri Wolves and
Aka United in their last two games.
