Enugu Rangers coach John Obuh has blamed his side's
wastefulness in front of goal as the reason for their loss to Warri Wolves at
the weekend.
Gbolahan Salami scored from the spot to give the
Seasiders a 1-0 win over the Flying Antelopes.
Obuh has however lashed out at the poor finishing from
his players, saying his team could have easily buried the game, but they failed
to utilize the chances created.
“I’m really disappointed with the outcome of the game, we
had three clear chances at goal to rake in a comfortable win but we ended up
paying dearly for our wastefulness," Obuh said.
"We created several chances but poor finishing was
our greatest undoing, we’ll work on it to ensure we score goals as we create
chances in the next matches."
The former Flying Eagles coach however assured that the
team will improve on their finishing in coming games, since creating chances is
not much of a problem.
Osagona Ighodaro led the Rangers frontline against Wolves,
but with their inability to breach the Wolves defence, Obuh introduced
Christian Obiozor and Meshack Chukwubuikem, but the duo were unable to find the
back of the net.
