Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman has revealed that he’s
proud to be a part of the capital city club and gave thanks to everyone who has
supported him since sustaining his recent knee injury.
The 24-year-old suffered an injury to the anterior
cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Giallorossi’s 1-0 loss to Napoli
at the San Paolo on March 9 and has been ruled out for the rest of the season,
which also sees him out of the Netherlands squad for the World Cup in Brazil
this summer.
Strootman wrote on his official Twitter to thank his Roma
team-mates as well as the club’s supporters for their numerous messages of
support and well wishes aimed toward his speedy recovery.
“Thank you for all the support,” said the Dutch
international, who joined the Lupi from PSV Eindhoven before the start of the
current season.
“I’m proud to be a part of this team! Good luck to my
team-mates and Forza Roma!”
