Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has revealed that no new
injury was recorded after the side’s 2-2 draw to Swansea on Tuesday.
Arsenal has been hit with a string of injuries to key
players in recent weeks with Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Theo
Walcott all out on the sidelines. But while there are no new injury worries,
Wenger confirmed that none of the players currently sidelined will be back in
time for the visit of Manchester City on Saturday.
“Compared to Tuesday night, we have no new injuries and
no-one coming back as well. Nacho Monreal should be the first one back in
training because he is just starting to run in the next few days. After him,
Ramsey is progressing well, but we need to be patient for a few more weeks,”
Wenger told Arsenal.com.
The Gunners boss also touched on the upcoming game
against Manchester City. The Frenchman stressed that though the team is
certainly disappointed with recent results, they are looking to turn things
around when the Citizens comes calling.
“We have to restore belief as well as we can and accept
our position at the end of the season, but at the moment our focus is to recover
from a high disappointment and recover for the next game. It is a huge game,”
he concluded.
