Giwa FC are delighted to be back in the Nigeria
Professional Football League as they prepare to kick off their campaign today
with a Week 4 home fixture against Rangers.
Newly promoted Giwa and Nembe City were initially not
registered for the season after they failed to meet basic requirements set by
the League Management Company (LMC).
However, they appealed against this decision and the
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have now readmitted the pair pending they honour
certain conditions.
"We are very happy that we are back in the league,
we are back to enjoy what we worked and laboured for,” said Giwa FC marketing
chief Sammy Adesoji.
“We will now host Rangers in a Week 4 game on Wednesday
in Jos.
“We wish to thank everyone who made our return possible -
the supporters, the NFF, sport minister, National Assembly, LMC, sports
journalists and everyone who contributed one way or the other to this. We are
ready and eager to go."
