The Argentine is happy to have joined the Serie A side
and is over the moon with the fans' adoration of him compared to Blancos
supporters.
Gonzalo Higuain has insisted that he does not have any
regrets over his decision to leave Real Madrid for Napoli at the start of the
campaign.
The Argentina international was one of three players to
make the move from los Blancos to the Serie A side last summer - with Jose
Callejon and Raul Albiol accompanying the striker - and he is happy with his
decision to move on from Madrid.
"I am more proud of the decision I took with every
day that goes by; I love Naples and its people," Higuain was quoted as
saying by Sportsweek.
"Diego Maradona didn't need to convince me to come
here. The decision was mine and I don't regret it.
"At the Santiago Bernabeu they never chanted my
name, whereas here every time my name is announced there is an almighty
roar."
Higuain, 26, has quickly developed into a key player at
Napoli, scoring nine goals in 17 Serie A appearances so far this season.
