Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit
of Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen following reports
in The Metro that the player’s suitors can land him for as little as £7m this
winter.
The highly rated 21 year old is believed to have turned
down the offer of a new deal at Borussia-Park and it is reported that the club
are now ready to let him move for a cut price amount this month.
The reports will certainly spell good news for the north
Londoners, who have been reported hot on the trail of the player for quite a
while now. The Gunners are believed to searching for a strong player to provide
their goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with considerable competition for a place in
the first team and are suggested to be viewing Ter Stegen as the ideal option
for the same.
However, with La Liga giants Barcelona also hot on the
trail of the player, things may turn out to be a bit tricky for Arsenal. The
Catalans are viewing the youngster as the perfect replacement for their
departing #1 Victor Valdes and will be ready to offer him the lure of a
starting berth to land him at the Nou Camp.
