Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella could be at the
centre of a tug of war between Premier League sides Sunderland and West Ham.
The Italian is set to leave the Bianconeri this summer
after the arrival of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez to the Juventus Stadium
this offseason.
As a result, Quagliarella has fallen down the pecking
order with the Old Lady and could be set for an exit in order to secure regular
first team football in an attempt to make Italy’s World Cup squad for next
summer’s tournament in Brazil.
The Sun are reporting that Sunderland are the favourites
to land the 30-year-old, though West Ham are expected to ramp up talks in the
coming days. Norwich City and Valencia have also been linked with a move for
the Naples native, but they appear to have fallen behind the Premier League duo
in the race for the striker’s signature.
Quagliarella managed to make 27 Serie A appearances for
the Bianconeri last season, but only started in 13 of those contests as he
finished the season with nine goals.
