Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is excited about fellow
French international Etienne Capoue joining the club, it has been reported.
The Express has reported that the midfielder is on the
verge of completing a move to North London for a transfer fee in the region of
£9.5 million, after Toulouse chief Olivier Sadran told a French radio station
about the transfer.
With the move of Capoue imminent the article reports that
Lloris is excited at his compatriot signing for his club.
The article reports comments made by the keeper to French
newspaper L’Equipe, he said, “It is a new step for him to take in his career.”
“I am delighted with his arrival in England and
Tottenham. For him to take his bearings and to prove.”
Capoue also sparked interest from the Championship
winners Cardiff, but decided to reject a move to Wales in the hope that a big
Premier League team would come in for him, it was reported.
Lloris has been at Tottenham for one year now following
his move from Lyon, making 5 appearances and keeping nine clean sheets.
Lloris and Capoue are international teammates and both
players will be hoping to make the French squad for the World Cup in Brazil
next summer.
