Brown Ideye had to settle for a place on Dynamo Kyiv's
bench in their 3-1 loss to Shaktar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League on
Sunday.
Ideye was the second highest goal scorer in the Ukrainian
League last season, with 17 goals in 28 appearances. But the Nigerian has lost
his starting place to newly-signed DR Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani, who
has scored four goals in four games for Dynamo.
A second minute goal from Darijo Srna gave Shaktar the lead,
but Younes Belhanda equalized six minutes later, before former Arsenal striker
Eduardo da Silva scored in the second half to restore Shaktar's lead.
Ideye came in for Belhanda in the 71st minute, but could
not inspire his side to a comeback against the Ukrainian champions as Alex
Texeira's 84th minute goal sealed the win for Shaktar.
Ideye has made only two substitute appearances for Dynamo
Kyiv this season, after four rounds of matches.
Haruna Lukman was the pitch for the entire duration of
the game.
The 22-year-old Nigeria international midfielder has
started all four League games for Dynamo Kyiv this season.
