FIFA Agent Believes Anzhi Star Is Too Expensive For The Serie A

Friday, 9 August 2013

FIFA agent Peppino Tirri believes that Anzhi striker Samuel Eto’o will not return to the Serie A due to his expensive wages despite interest from Napoli and Inter.

The Cameroonian star is set to leave the Russian side after the club’s recent decision to slash it’s budget in favour of promoting more youth players.

As a result several high profile players, including Eto’o, are expected to leave the club in the coming weeks. Despite reports linking him with a move to Napoli and Inter, Tirri believes it is impossible for the former Nerazzurri star to return to Italy due to the €20 million after tax he earns per season.

“The bomb exploded yesterday, something unusual happened but there still aren’t any details about it,” he told Sportitalia.

“Eto’o? He is unattainable from a financial point of view and because he has another year on his contract.”
