With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty
of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with
the latest transfer rumours. Today, Gareth Bale edges closer to his record move
to real Madrid.
Gareth Bales record-breaking move to Real Madrid is
almost complete with chairman Daniel Levy due to meet Florentino Perez in Miami
to conclude a deal that could be worth £105m, according to the Daily Mail.
The Spanish giants have been public with their interest
in the Welshman this summer with players and coaches all voicing their support
of the 24-year-old making the switch to the Bernabeu this summer.
Spurs have tried their best to hang on to the PFA Player
of the Year for another season but the Mail claim Bale is desperate to make his
‘dream’ move to Spain and president Florentino Perez is determined to get his
man.
The newspaper reports that a deal is now close with Levy
and Perez due to hold talks in Miami to thrash out the finer details that could
see Madrid pay a world record figure of £105m – which would smash the £80m Real
paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti refused to be drawn on
the speculation yesterday after aggravating Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas last
week when he spoke openly about their interest in the player.
‘I won’t speak about Bale, because I have already angered
him (Villas-Boas) and I don’t want to anger another coach,’ the Madrid boss is
quoted as saying by the Mail
‘I didn’t say anything in particular and I prefer not to
talk about this.’
The coming days appear to be crucial as the two clubs
look to find a resolution that suits both parties, but it looks as though Bale
could be heading out of England and the Premier League, as well as Tottenham,
will lose one of it’s star players.
