Gareth Bale has been included in the Wales squad for next
week’s international friendly against the Republic of Ireland.
Bale is at the centre of one of the biggest transfer
sagas of the summer with Real Madrid keen to land the Welsh winger for a world
record fee.
As well as the intense speculation regarding his future,
Bale has also been battling a niggling injury but that has not stopped manager
Chris Coleman from naming him in his Wales squad for the Ireland friendly.
Bale is one of 23 players named in the squad with Wolves
goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and Cardiff City striker Craig Bellamy set to
feature against the Boys in Green. Hennessy’s inclusion comes after he battled
back from two cruciate ligament injuries.
Swansea City defender Ashley Williams will once again
skipper the side.
