Numerous sources are now claiming that Spurs have agreed
the club record fee with Valencia for Roberto Soldado.
The deal is expected to be finalised in the next 48 hours
when Soldado will fly to London for a medical.
Valencia had looked to hold out for the €30million buyout
clause in Soldado’s contract, with Spurs Technical Director Franco Baldini
initially travelling to Spain in an attempt to secure a £22million
(€25.49million) deal.
The GoDoFather Baldini returned from Europe empty handed
as cash-strapped Valencia remained immovable on their €30million valuation.
However with Spurs’ attacking options thinning out as the
transfer window enters its final month, the North London side look to have
returned for the Valencia captain offering the golden €30million sum in a hope
to finally bring in a proven goalscorer.

Former Valencia director Antonio Sese dropped the biggest
hint that a deal had been struck via his personal Twitter account, revealing:
"They tell me that Roberto Soldado will be
transferred shortly. They [Tottenham] will pay the release clause. Great
management."
This comes on top of comments by new coach Miroslav
Djukic, who also seemed fairly defeatist in his bid to keep the man who has
taken the club’s top goalscorer award two seasons running:
“If his exit to Tottenham is confirmed then we will wish
him all the luck in the world." He revealed.
