The 21-year-old was elated with his side's win and feels
they have vastly improved in the past few months to lift the Confederations Cup
Neymar has admitted Brazil's 3-0 Confederations Cup final
win over Spain came as a surprise to the 2014 World Cup hosts and has hailed
their progress in recent months.
The Barcelona forward scored his team's second goal of
the game shortly before half-time, sandwiched between a Fred double.
"I honestly didn’t expect this. I’ve just been
speaking to my team-mates in the dressing room about how everything is coming
together and how well things are going in every sense," Neymar told the
official Fifa website.
"I’m really pleased that things have ended on such a
high note, with our best performance to date. Winning this title is very
important.
"It’s a massive step forward for the team and we are
delighted to have achieved it. It was a great game between Brazil and Spain,
one that the whole world stopped to watch, and we know that we played a
fantastic match."
Brazil became the first team in history to win the
competition three times in a row following their win over Spain.
