Michu, who was signed for just £2 million from La Liga
outfit Rayo Vallecano, was the surprise package of the Premier League last
season, scoring an astonishing 22 goals as he helped the Welsh club to a
ninth-placed finish, as well as a first ever League Cup trophy - this gives the
Swans and Michu an opportunity for Europa League football this season.
The 27-year-old has targeted improvement ahead of the
2013/14 campaign,
and admitted that his
favoured position is playing 'in the hole' despite wearing the number
nine last season and having to play as an out-and-out striker due to Swansea's
lack of cover in that position.
Michu told reporters: "I prefer to play behind the
striker so I hope you will see a better Michu.
"I scored more goals when I played behind a striker
last season. I like that position because I can move around and the
centre-backs are looking for the striker and not me. I can arrive late from the
second line and score goals."
Bony, who was signed from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for a
club-record fee of £12m, looks set to play a key role in attack with the
Spaniard this season.
The Ivorian striker made his starting debut alongside
Michu in a 3-0 friendly win over Reading recently, in which Michu scored and
Bony assisted twice.
