AS Monaco will enter negotiations with Manchester
United’s Patrice Evra within the next few weeks over a summer deal for the
French defender.
Evra’s contract is set to run out at the end of the
season and is therefore free to discuss his next move from now.
Neither party seems willing to discuss a contract renewal
and it is now believed that Monaco are ready to enter negotiations for the
international defender in the month of April.
The Frenchman signed for United from Monaco in a
£5.5million deal in 2006 and has served the Red Devils well, playing over 250
Premier League matches.
He was part of the famous Monaco side which reached the
final of the Champions League in 2004, losing out 3-0 to Jose Mourinho’s FC
Porto.
Evra turns 33 years old in May and is set to feature for
the French national team at the World Cup in Brazil
