Shooting Stars media officer, Jubril Arowolo says the
team will improve in subsequent matches in the Nigeria National League despite
the 2-0 loss to Stationery Stores last Thursday in Lagos.
Arowolo told FCNaija that there is nothing to be worried
about with the defeat in the hands of Stores, nothing that they are focused and
ready for promotion to the Nigeria Premier League.
“While it is true that we lost to Stationery Stores, I am
still confident that we are going to improve in other matches. We played well
in that game against Stores, but after losing a penalty through Francis Ndem,
we did not seem to be able to get our acts together again.
“But it is just three points lost. We have a game against
Go Round FC this weekend in Ibadan and we hope to do our best to win the game.
Everything is working well for us this season and our target is to return to
where we truly belong which is the Glo Premier League,” Arowolo said
Meanhwile,Shooting stars suffered a significant blow
ahead of their next national league match against Go round FC on Sunday when
the duo of Ebiaku Sylvanus and Samuel Akinbinu were suspended for picking up
their second yellow card of the season. The duo have started all 3SC’s matches
under Franklin Howard this season.
A top official has informed Oyosportsnews.com that four
players have been dropped from the eleven that started against Stores due to
poor performance and replaced for next Sunday league match.
The source said: “After the disappointing 0-2 loss to
Stationery Stores yesterday, six players of the 3SC team have been replaced as
the team moved immediately to camp in preparation for Sunday’s week four home
game against Go Round F.C.
“The duo of Ebiaku Sylvanus and Samuel Akinbinu are on
yellow cards suspension while the remaining four were dropped due to their poor
performance,” the source added.
