Ottmar Hitzfeld believes that AC Milan sold Kevin-Prince
Boateng to Schalke 04 for a relatively low price because his potential injury
proneness.
The head coach of Swiss national team has recently
queried the acquisition of Boateng by the German side.
“In Italy, they wanted to get rid of him [Boateng]
because of his physical problems, especially that of his left knee,” said
Hitzfeld to Sky 90.
“That’s why Schalke bought him for only €10 million.”
Twenty-six-year-old Boateng joined Schalke 04 after his
two goals helped the Rossoneri win in the Champions League qualifying fixtures
against PSV Eindhoven.
The Ghanian international made over 100 appearance for AC
Milan and won the Scudetto in his debut season for the Rossoneri.
