Napoli, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern

Napoli targets Gonzalo Higuain and Pepe Reina have both
passed medicals this evening. The Real Madrid striker and Arsenal target is
expect to sign on a €40 million deal taking him to the Serie A outfit and
long-serving Liverpool goalkeeper Reina will reunite with former Reds boss
Rafael Benitez on loan.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea target Luiz Gustavo has
insisted he is ‘happy to stay’ at European champions Bayern Munich, despite
interest from a number of clubs including Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
"I want to stay on at Bayern Munich. I am under
contract with the club and I want to fulfil that commitment,” stated the
Brazilian midfielder.
Serie A giants Lazio have completed the signing of Lucas
Biglia on a five-year contract from Anderlecht. The 27-year-old midfielder has
spent the last seven season in Belgium and, despite previous interest from a
number of top clubs in England and France, the Argentine has signed for Lazio.
Elsewhere, former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker
Javier Saviola has signed for Greek giants Olympiacos this evening. The
31-year-old Argentine arrives on a free transfer after his one-year contract
extension at Malaga expired earlier this month.
La Liga giants Real Madrid have tied up the future of
Jese Rodriguez (known simply as Jese) to a new four-year contract, ending
speculation the highly rated youngster could move on from the Bernabeu this
summer.
The 20-year-old striker was reportedly a target of
Tottenham’s but the new agreement commits him to the Spanish capital until
2017.
In the Championship, Charlton boss Chris Powell has
opened the door for Ricardo Fuller to re-sign at The Valley.
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed the club are
in talks to negotiate the sale of Michael Chopra who is deemed ‘surplus to requirements’
and will likely move to either Barnsley or Sheffield Wednesday who have both
been heavily linked with the 29-year-old striker.
Atletico Madrid have signed Jose Maria Gimenez on a
five-year contract from Danubio. The 18-year-old defender is understood to be
delighted to join the likes of David Villa in the Spanish capital.
Earlier this afternoon, Brendan Rodgers insisted striker
Luis Suarez remains a Liverpool player, despite Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid for
the Uruguayan who has now been granted permission to discuss personal terms
with the Gunners.
