It appears that Spurs sporting director Franco Baldini is
a quick worker.
Spanish paper Cadena Ser, who originally confirmed that
Baldini was in Valencia to discuss the transfer of Roberto Soldado, have
confirmed this Tuesday evening that a deal is close.
Tottenham placed a bid of 26 million euros, plus 4
million in incentives, which is expected to close the deal for Soldado.
Valencia are reportedly holding out for 30 million euros
but the Valencia board of directors are meeting on Tuesday and are expected to
confirm the deal.
Cadena Ser add that Soldado is keen on a move to White
Hart Lane and has already agreed personal terms with Spurs – believed to be 3
and a half million euros per season.
They also suggest that if Spurs pay 20 million euros of
the fee in cash, the deal will be for sure be ratified
Valencia president Amadeo Salvo was quoted on Radio Marca
on Monday night all but confirming the transfer.
Salvo said on Saldado’s 30 million release fee: “What’s
being offered isn’t far from that.”
Further discussions between Baldini and Valencia are also
expected on Tuesday morning.
