Marca, well known to be the mouthpiece for Real Madrid,
have today claimed that the club will not be signing a direct replacement for
Gonzlo Higuain who has left to join Napoli and offer a quote from the club as
proof of their claim.
Marca state
Higuaín is off to Naples and Real Madrid is not going to
sign a number ’9′, even if Ibrahimovic and Luis Suárez were begging for a
place. The ‘Los Blancos’ club is set on opting for home-grown talents, Morata
and Jesé, as replacements for ‘El Pipa’ with the convincing argument:
“We believe in them and they deserve this opportunity.
They are also very good. If Higuaín leaves, we are not going to sign a new
forward”.
This could, then, be why Arsenal seem so confident of
landing Luis Suarez as Real Madrid have no interest in signing the player.
Marca are also quick to point out that this quote is
something of a half-truth and that while Real Madrid have no intention of
signing a forward they have every intention of bringing in a goal scorer –
namely Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
On the whole it all sounds like very good news all around
for Arsenal, that’s if it’s true of course.
Arsenal already have experience of Real Madrid changing
their mind this summer after they upped the price on Higuain once Arsenal had
agreed terms with the player. It would be a very brave person who believed them
totally about Suarez as well.
But it does look good and eases the fears that many
Arsenal fans have that Real Madrid would swoop in for Suarez and Arsenal would
be left with no-one.
Last night it was revealed by a number of press outlets
that Luis Suarez wants permission to talk to Arsenal and from what has been
reported is very keen on a move. Liverpool have dropped their price slightly
for the player, now claims are being made that they want £50m for him.
