Liverpool’s owner John W. Henry tweeted this morning to
ask what people think they are smoking over at the Emirates in what can only be
presumed to be reference to the £40,000,001 bid Arsenal submitted for Luis
Suarez.
See the tweets after cut...
News of Arsenal’s bid, which was £1 over £40m in order to
enable Arsenal to be able to legally talk to the striker, came out last night
and the internet went crazy. Arsenal
fans thought it was hilarious that Arsenal had bid just £1 over. enough to
trigger the clause, while many Liverpool fans seem to completely miss the FORTY
MILLION which was attached to the one pound and took great offence acting as if
they had been only offered £1 for their talisman.
The bid was rejected automatically by Liverpool who are
still hoping they can get somewhere in the region of £55m for Suarez but
Arsenal can now sit down with him and put their vision of the future to him in
a bid to try and get him to put in a transfer request [my speculation, not
fact].
