MATCH REPORT: FC Barcelona 4-1 Real Sociedad

Wednesday, 25 September 2013

FC Barcelona hosted a Champion League team, Real Sociedad, at the Camp Nou in what promised to be a tight affair. In reality, however, it was as one-sided a league game can be with Barcelona racing to a three goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Neymar, Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. Teams exchanged goals in the second half, with Alberto de la Bella scoring for the visitor, and Marc Bartra replying for Barcelona.

The rotation of starters continued for Barça and Gerardo Martino, who for this game left Cesc Fabregas on the stands while Pedro took a place on the bench. Andres Iniesta returned to the starting lineup while Alexis Sanchez took the place of the hat-trick hero against Rayo Vallecano. In defense Dani Alves also started after he received some much needed rest on Saturday.
