Angelina Jolie to Marry Brad Pitt 'Sooner Rather Than Later' After Double Mastectomy

Thursday, 16 May 2013

The only reason that the Jolie and Pitt pair haven't walked down the aisle is reportedly because they have busy schedules with him recently working on 'World War Z'.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may be preparing for their wedding if Daily Mail could be trusted. Following her revelation about the breast removal surgery she had to prevent cancer, the "Salt" actress is rumored to tie the knot with her fiance "sooner rather than later."

"Brad has been caught up in production turmoil with his new film 'World War Z', so there's been no wedding planning as a result," a source claims to the online publication, "but Angie has said it will happen sooner rather than later."

Despite rumors suggesting they will hold nuptials at their Chateau Miraval when the day finally comes, the source insists the couple who got engaged last year will want a fresh location that "addresses their security concerns and desire to keep it private."

Jolie may want to get married in one of the countries that close to her charity work, the source says. "Getting married in Bosnia, Haiti or Cambodia would give something back to the global community. That may sound pretentious to many but Angelina sincerely believes in the need to pursue that aim. It drives her charity work and she'd like to incorporate this sentiment into her personal life," the insider claims.

Jolie revealed in a moving article titled "My medical Choice" on New York Times about her double mastectomy. She decided to go under the knife after finding out that she carried a "faulty" gene that sharply increased her risk of breast cancer up to 87% and ovarian cancer up to 50%.

"The decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. ... I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer," she said. "And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can."

"On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity," she added.

She decided to go public with her story "because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer." She explained, "It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested, and that if they have a high risk they, too, will know that they have strong options."

Outpouring supports come from fellow celebrities like Barbara Walters, Giuliana Rancic, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sheryl Crow and many more. She also inspired CNN anchor Zoraida Sambolin to share the story of her struggle with cancer.

Walters said she could relate to Jolie because she herself had her ovaries removed. "My sister passed away from ovarian cancer and I had my ovaries removed. It's not like having the breasts because people don't see it. But it's a decision you have to make - it's preventative," the TV presenter said.

During an episode on "The View", Walters added, "What I think with Angelina... she's such a sex symbol and we associate sex with breasts so often. And the fact that she did this and has retained her beauty and her sexuality. I think it was brave of her, she did it for her own health, but it was so brave to write about it. A women's sexuality is not tied up with her breasts."

Breast cancer survivor Rancic applauded Jolie on Twitter, "Proud of her for using her incredible platform to educate women." Another cancer survivor Crow did the same as writing on her own page, "I commend Angelina Jolie for her courage and thoughtfulness in sharing her story today regarding her mastectomy. So brave!"

Curtis called Jolie "a heroine," explaining, "She is brave and bold and challenging. She challenges the world with her thoughts and actions and deeds. She tells stories that have meaning. She walks the walk, talks the talk and does so with jaw dropping beauty and admirable and seemingly effortless style."

Not only she is admired by other women but she also inspires men. Tom Arnold tweeted, "Angelina Jolie is heroic today because she forced us men to think about and even talk about something very uncomfortable. Our wives health." David Krumholtz gushed, "Now, Angelina Jolie truly is the most beautiful woman in the world."

Angelina Jolie Reportedly Will Remove Her Ovaries Next

Angelina is said planning to remove her ovaries after having preventive double mastectomy, because she still has 50 percent chance of developing ovarian cancer.
Angelina Jolie has revealed her brave act to undergo double mastectomy. However, her medical challenge is not over yet. PEOPLE reported that the mother of six would have another surgery to remove her ovaries.

Angelina is a carrier of BRCA1 gene and she has 50 percent chance of developing ovarian cancer. As a preventive measure, the surgery is usually carried out when women reach 40 or when they are done having children. Removing the ovaries, however, may trigger early menopause.

In regards to her condition, a source close to her family told the magazine that the "Salt" actress "is doing well" after undergoing double mastectomy in February and reconstructive surgery in April. The 37-year-old mother and her fiance Brad Pitt have been trying to maintain regular activities at home. According to the source, "life was normal" for their six children around the time of surgery.

Another insider added, "Her kids always come first to her." The family carried out normal activities such as exchanging gifts on Valentine's Day and doing Easter egg hunt while Angelina was under treatment.

Earlier this week, Angelina revealed in an op-ed featured in New York Times that she had 87 percent of developing breast cancer and went under the knife to cut the risk. "I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer," she wrote. Angelina lost her mother Marcheline Bertrand, who passed away at the age of 56, because of ovarian cancer.

Angelina Jolie Reveals Brave Decision to Have Double Mastectomy to Avoid Cancer

Tuesday, 14 May 2013

The fiancee of Brad Pitt opens up about her breast removal surgery to empower other women at risk of having cancer to make a strong choice.
Angelina Jolie makes a shocking revelation Tuesday, May 14 in a New York Times article titled "My Medical Choice". The mother of six says she went under the knife to have a double mastectomy after finding out that she has a mutated BRCA1 gene which sharply increases a woman's risk of breast and ovarian cancers.

Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand died in 2007 at 56 after fighting ovarian cancer for nearly a decade. Her six children sometimes ask her if the same could happen to her, and the 37-year-old actress wants to avoid the same fate as her mom. "I have always told them not to worry, but the truth is I carry a 'faulty' gene," she says.

"My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman," she adds. "Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."

"I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex," so she explains. She quietly began a "nipple delay" on February 2 to save the part of the body before having surgery to remove her breast tissue and undergoing reconstruction of the breasts with an implant.

Jolie finished the 3-month procedure on April 27 with her fiance Brad Pitt by her side. She's grateful to have such a "loving and supportive" partner. "So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition," she says.

"Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has," she gushes.

"The decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent," she says, adding that she now becomes more assured when answering question from her kids, "I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer."

"It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that's it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can," she continues.

"On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity," she adds.

She decides to go public with her story "because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer." Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Wine Sells Out in Five Hours

Friday, 8 March 2013

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might have a little bit more to learn about supply and demand.

The engaged couple’s Miraval Rosé 2012 wine completely sold out all 6,000 bottles in five hours on Thursday, the first day it was available online. "The sale started at 9 a.m., and all the bottles were sold out by 2 p.m.,” Vitabella, the public relations firm representing the Jolie-Pitt’s vineyard, said in a statement.

Miraval Rosé 2012 was available as a six-bottle case for $139.

Later this month, it will be back on sale, but this time for wholesalers and restaurants. It’s unclear as of now if the rosé will once again be available for the general public, but given the great demand for it, the Hollywood stars and their business partner, winemaker Marc Perrin, would have to be crazy not to cash in.

Piggybacking on the sweet success of their rosé, Pitt and Jolie’s Château Miraval plans to roll out a white wine later this summer and a few different reds throughout 2014.

And they certainly have the space and materials. Château Miraval, the 35-bedroom estate and adjoining vineyard which the couple purchased for $60 million last year after leasing it since 2008, spans 1,200 acres … and has enough grapes to make 150,000 bottles of wine.

Cheers to that!
