The Nigeria Football Federation has disclosed that it
will hold an Extra-Ordinary General Assembly in Warri, capital of Delta State
on Saturday, 20th September, 2014.
Speaking in Abuja Today, NFF General Secretary, Barrister
Musa Amadu, stated that the event is the first of two such Congresses advised
by world football –governing body, FIFA, to usher in a new NFF Executive Committee.
Amadu also disclosed that the grand finale of this year’s
Men and Women Federation Cup competitions will come up only after the Elective
Congress of the NFF.
According to the Federation’s scribe, “At the
Extra-Ordinary Congress, the General Assembly will elect persons into a fresh
NFF Electoral Committee and a new NFF Electoral Appeals Committee.”
“The General Assembly will also, at the same event,
decide on a date and venue for the Elective Congress, which we hope will take
place before the end of the month,” Amadu explained.
All the Chairmen and Secretaries of the Football
Associations of the 36 States and the FCT, as well as Chairmen and Secretaries
of the various Leagues, Coaches Association, Referees Association and Players’
Union are expected to be in attendance at the event slated for 11am.
