Glo NPFL wrap: Week 22 review

Action continued in the Glo Premier League, and they were some exciting results in the Week 22 games played on Sunday in various centres across the country.

Gombe United recorded a 1-0 away win over Bayelsa United in Benin City, to put Austin Eguavoen quest to help the club avoid relegation on track.

The Oriental Derby between Enugu Rangers and Enyimba ended in a 1-1 draw at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium. While Nasarawa United held Akwa United to a 0-0 draw in Uyo.

In the battle of the warriors played in Umuahia, goals from Michael Okoro and Chisom Chikatara gave Abia Warriors a 2-0 home win over El Kanemi Warriors. While Edoh Ocheme's effort helped Giwa FC come from behind to salvage a 1-1 home draw against Dolphins, after Omo Johnson gave the visitors the lead. 

Fidelia Saviour was amongst the goals for FC Taraba as they beat Kaduna United 2-0 in Jalingo. While Kano Pillars suffered a heavy 3-0 loss away to Sunshine Stars in Akure.

Lobi Stars recorded a 1-0 home win over Sharks FC. While in Owerri, Heartland pipped visiting Crown FC 1-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.

Kano Pillars remain atop the league table with 37 points from 22 games, one point adrift of second placed Abia Warriors. Nasarawa United occupy third place with 35 points, while Dolphins, Warri Wolves and Lobi Stars sit in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively with 34 points.
