Osaze Odemwingie admits that nerves played a part in his
poor showing on his return to the national team.
The Stoke striker struggled with his first touch in games
against Scotland and Greece and admits that he was a little nervous.
"It feels great to be back in the squad and to
receive the kind of welcome I got from the boys," he told
KickOffNigeria.com.
"But I didn't do too well and maybe I was a little
nervous because it has been such a long time since I played for the national
team."
In typically saucy Odemwingie fashion, he then shifted
the blame to the ball.
"I'm used to playing with adidas ball and this one
was Nike!"
Returning to serious mode, the forward said he expected
to return to form in time for the start of the World Cup.
"But I've been working on it and I know I need to
relax a little more and just do my thing. It will come."
