PSG's Blanc will sign extension when club clinches Ligue 1 title

Tuesday, 6 May 2014

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc will renew his contract when the French league title has been secured.

At a news conference ahead of Wednesday's game against Rennes, Blanc said he will sign a new contract ''when we're champions,'' adding ''it's a matter of principle'' not to sign anything before the title has been won.

PSG can seal a second straight French title by beating Rennes at home, although if Monaco fails to beat Guingamp in Wednesday's earlier match then PSG will automatically be champion.

The former France defender joined in the offseason on a one-year deal with an option for a second year, but has reportedly been offered a longer deal.
