Roma have announced that Kevin Strootman’s injury he
picked up while on international duty with the Netherlands isn’t a serious one.
The 24-year-old suffered a minor injury in the Oranje’s
2-0 loss to France on Wednesday which saw him subbed off late in the first
half, and it’s unknown if he’ll be able to make an appearance for the
Giallorossi in their Serie A match against Napoli at the San Paolo on Sunday.
The Lupi released a short statement on their official
website on Thursday regarding Strootman’s condition and revealed that he’s
already started undergoing treatment.
“Strootman has had tests which revealed that there is no
muscle damage,” read the statement.
“The player has already begun treatment.”
Roma’s upcoming match with Napoli will be an important
one, as the second place Giallorossi will be looking to widen the six point gap
between them and the third place Partenopei, and Strootman’s possible absence
could affect the capital city club’s line up.
