Germany coach Joachim Low has acted scathingly at
criticism of his team after they ran out as narrow 1-0 winners against Chile in
the latest round of World Cup warm-up fixtures. The home side were lambasted
for merely winning by a solitary goal but Low maintains that Chile, who could
quite easily face Brazil in the second round of this summer's tournament, are a
quality outfit.
"Now I think everybody can see how strong Chile are.
I said it on monday. They are strong technically, tactically and in the way the
implement it."
"We had many situations where we were not close
enough to our opponents. there were places the Chileans were always able to get
the ball."
South American sides are expected to compete fiercely
this summer and Low has welcomed the challenge:"It's always good when you
see there are good players outside Germany, too. teams from South America will
play an important role for their continent."
