Napoli legend Diego Maradona has revealed that he’d be
ready to take a job with the Partenopei if club president Aurelio De Laurentiis
were to offer him one.
The 53-year-old has been spending his time in Naples
lately and was even present at the San Paolo on February 12 to witness the
Azzurri earn their spot in the Coppa Italia final after defeating Roma in their
second leg semi-final match with a 3-0 result.
Maradona recently spoke to Il Mattino about his undying
love for Napoli and admitted that he’s willing to take up a position at the
club as soon as possible.
“I’m back at the San Paolo with a beating heart, it seems
as if the time has never passed,” said the former Partenopei attacker, who
played with the Italian club from 1984-91 and led them to two Serie A titles,
among several other trophies.
“My heart is blue. If De Laurentiis calls me, I’ll be
ready [to work]“
