Gareth Bale said it was his job to create goals for
Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about his assist for the Portuguese in Real
Madrid's 3-0 defeat of Celta de Vigo.
Bale, who made his comeback from a calf injury yesterday
after a three-week spell on the sidelines, teed up Ronaldo for one of his two
goals at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo's brace took his career tally to 400 goals.
"My assist for Ronaldo? That's my job," Bale
told the official Madrid website.
"It was a tough match and the important thing is we
got the three points. I'm very pleased that we've won our first game of 2014.
"We've had a good rest over the Christmas break and
we are raring to go in 2014. We're really looking forward to it.
"I'm feeling great and I'm itching to play and help
the team in 2014."
Bale has netted seven times, and registered as many
assists, in 11 La Liga outings since his world record €100 million switch from
Tottenham in September.
