In today’s edition of Le Parisien, PSG coach Laurent
Blanc, admitted that he’s still keen of signing Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye. The
Parisian club contacted the French international last summer, but the
negotiation didn’t go very far. With regard to Yohan Cabaye’s interview in
Canal+ declaring that “he’s still a Newcastle’s player and that there’s no
contact with PSG,” Blanc reacted by
answering that “sometimes files close but also sometimes they re-open.”
For the first time Paris’ manager didn’t close the door
to a possible transfer. “The more they say that a player is not transferable,
the more means that things can change. A transfer is, first of all, a
negotiation,” he said.
The fact that Cabaye is not cup tied for the Champions
League, which would be a huge plus for PSG. The French international has two
and a half years remaining on his contract and there is, allegedly, a £6
million buy-out clause for the final two years. The question is, would this be
a good move for Cabaye. The World Cup is only six months away and any move to a
club where a spot in the first team isn’t necessarily guaranteed might impact
his chances of going to Brazil.
