Reports in the Italian media suggest Juventus midfielder
Andrea Pirlo has already signed a new contract with the club, with an official
announcement set to come in early February.
The 34-year-old is reported to have signed a two year
contract that will keep him at the Old Lady until 2016.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pirlo’s deal is for
€4 million a year. The paper speculates that the official announcement of the
signing will come shortly after the Derby D’Italia between Inter and Juventus
on Feb. 2.
The report suggests that there are still few minor issues
to be ironed out between the club and its star midfielder, but nothing that
would threaten the deal being finalized.
Pirlo had been the subject of some transfer speculation
this month, including a link with Manchester United whose manager, David Moyes,
was in the stands to watch Sunday’s Cagliari-Juventus match.
