Darren Collison led the Los Angeles Clippers to a
comprehensive 101-81 victory over the Orlando Magic at the Staples Center.
Collison was standing in for regular point guard Chris
Paul, who has injured his right shoulder and could miss six weeks of action,
and filled the gap admirably by scoring 19 of his 21 points in the first half.
Blake Griffin scored 16 points with Jamal Crawford
contributing 13 and eight of his team's 30 assists.
The Magic have now lost four games in a row but had
Maurice Harkless and Victor Oladipo to thank for providing a steady flow of
points, with each reserve scoring 22 for Jacque Vaughan's side.
Elsewhere, Joe Johnson scored 23 points against his
former team as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Atlanta Hawks 91-86 to notch a third
straight victory.
Dominant
Alan Anderson scored 14 points with Mirza Teletovic
adding 16 as the Nets moved went 2-0 on a four-game homestand that next sees
Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat visit the Barclays Center this week.
Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic led the Minnesota
Timberwolves to a 126-95 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Love scored 16 of his 26 points in a dominant third
quarter while Pekovic scored 16 points and won 14 rebounds.
Thaddeus Young scored 20 points for the Sixers but defeat
brought Brett Brown's team's four-game winning streak to an end.
