The excitement continued in Week 24 of the Glo Premier
League, as ten matches were played in various Stadiums across the country on
Sunday evening.
Kwara United created the biggest upset of the week, as
Sidi Lawal's 55th minute goal helped the Afonja Warriors to a 1-0 away win over
Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
In Enugu, Rangers came from behind to beat visiting
Kaduna United 2-1 thanks to goals from Meshack Chukwubuikem and Chisom
Egbuchulam.
Kingsley Ediwo's brace was sandwiched between Tony
Edjomariegwe's 35th minute goal as Shootings Stars recorded a 3-1 win over
visiting Kano Pillars, whose consolatory goal was scored by Nasiru Ali. Stone
Ebvuomwan headed ABS in front in the first-half as the Saraki boys recorded a
2-1 home win over Lobi Stars.
Bishop Onyeudo's brace helped Enyimba to a 2-0 home win
over Nembe City, and Son Hingir's solitary strike gave Akwa United a 1-0 home
win over Wikki Tourists.
Sunshine Stars recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over visiting
Dolphins FC at the Akure Township Stadium, with Dele Olorundare, Alaba Adeniyi
and Tamen Medrano getting their names in the score sheet.
Jackson Daniel and Joseph Osadiaye scored for Nasarawa
United and Warri Wolves respectively, as the Seasiders held the Solid Miners to
a 1-1 draw in Lafia, in spite of the fact that the hosts were awarded two
penalties which were missed by Ezioha Okereke but Christian Pyagbara and
Ifeanyi Inyam were all on target as Sharks raced to a 3-0 home win over Gombe
United.
In Yenagoa, Azubuike Okechukwu's 9th minute goal opened
the floodgates as Bayelsa United recorded a 3-0 win over El Kanemi Warriors,
with goals from Peter Ebimobowei in the 18th minute and Gindo Abdoulaye in the
40th minute sealing the win for the hosts.
